plant build time

So.. I Finally have a indicator that it's been sent to the plant to be built and a full VIN # was available to the dealer.

This was Thursday this week.

Anyone know if by the time they ship it - how long does it take to build ? - will it still be in 2002 ?. Or would it end up in 2003 with a plant submittal date of Thursday ..

20 weeks?
what precious metal is it being plated with?
That would put me at around April 03.
I wouldnt wish it on anyone but I sure hope yours is a fluke of some sort.
You have incredible patience.
I commend you.

The last 2002 was built in July. The plant switched to 2003 production in mid July.

I know I've posted this before, but I can't find it.

After finding out the '02 cutoff was the end of May, I ordered my '03 F350 Supercab dually June 6/03. Serialized Sept 6. Built September 16. Took delivery October 26th. Almost 20 weeks as well!

prd - hang in there, it's well worth the wait!

kaufman_sm,

What engine/trans/color combo did you get on your truck? Just curious as I have a 6.0 diesel/manual/crew cab/black-silver two tone on order.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

I ordered 6.0 diesel/manual/crew {woops that's the same}. Seriously, other than color we ordered about the same truck {F250 but that don't matter}. I ordered the dark highland green which I have found to be darker that I first thought but not going to change it now !.

The hold on manual transmission builts stopped on the last week of November and even low priority builds {that I was shown in the computer} are "Clear" that ordered a manual so a 6-speed should not be a hold item at present.
