installed new flex plate 90 b11 . i can,t get trans to bolt all the way to eng. i can,t get torque converter lined up. it drops in to slot, but needs about a inch more. can anyone help? tbud
When putting the torque converter upon the tranny input shaft there are two location points you will feel the torque converter go back to. The converter will appear visibly to be back farther than it should. Also it is sometimes difficult to get the torque converter studs through the flex plate when installing the tranny. Don't know if it is a weight distribution thing or what but every time I have installed a tranny in a Bronco II seems the tranny wants to twist to one side.
It has to be the torque converter is not alighned on the input shaft of the transmission. I little twisting motion as you slide the torque converter onto the shaft should lock it in position. If there are no other obstructions the converter is the problem.
