battery date code info needed
How do I find the date code on my battery. The local dealer here in San Diego says there is none. Is this true? How does Ford know how old a battery is, if there is no date code? I have a 99 Lightning and a 99 Explorer, both with Ford Mototcraft batteries. I suspect both are near the end of their lifespan. One is water fillable and the other is sealed battery. Can anyone offer any information on this?

Hi and welcome to FTE
Usually, batteries have a round sticker on them somewhere with a date code on them. I am not for sure about the factory ones though. The last Motorcraft battery that I looked at had a Ford part # on it which has a date code built in. Such as if it started with a F9, then it would be a 99.
