Correct spark plugs for '01 V6 4.0L Ranger?
Hey, guys.
I just rolled over 80k miles last week on my Ranger so I wanted to replace the spark plugs.
I looked up the plugs for my Ranger on autolite's website and it came up with AP5144 (Platinum), which have a .062 gap.
The owner's manual, however, says (pg 232) that for my engine, I need plugs with a .052 - .056 inch gap.
The part number it gives on page 226 is Motocraft AGSF-34FP.
A quick tour of Motorcraft's website says it's a .065 gap.
What's the deal with all of this?
It may be apparent by now that I've never replaced spark plugs before. Should I worry about a .002 descrepancy?

Hi, welcome to FTE!
Those Motorcraft AGSF-34FP plugs recommended in your owner's manual are the newer "fine wire" plugs which Ford engineers say are an even better design than the double platinums. I wouldn't be shy about using them at all in my 4.0L. Read Here.
