Hood help

Hi everyone, I'm new here.

I was wondering if anyone had any ideas on what I should do with my hood to my 1957 F-100.

I have sanded the paint off of the whole truck down to bare metal with either a fine wire wheel or sand paper. I just got to the hood and when I started to take the paint off of the front of it, I found a crap load of Bondo and under that a really dented up hood. I dont know if the hood is original or not but the hood has a lot of spots where it has been welded up and beat somewhat back into place. I know that I could just re-apply the bondo but I am looking for this to last a long time and I would have to put like 2" of bondo on it to make it look right.

I have looked around in local junk yards and on the net but I cant seem to find a new one. would replacing it be the best way to go or should I just bondo it?

Thanks

'57_Fordguy,
You will be happiest with another hood. Are you in California? There are '57-58 hoods to be had in your fair state. You just have to start beatin' the bushes. Make it a point to ask every 'truck guy' you run across for tips where you might find one.
Good Luck!

Hi 57_Fordguy,

Here's a link to a recent thread about these hood scoops. Some pretty interesting info in there.
