I have a 1992 f-250 4x4 with a 460 and an E40D tranny. My brakes seem to be locking up and i have a pull and vibration when i brake hard. The pads look fine, but i just bought the truck and am the 3rd owner so im not sure when they were replaced. How can i tell? Should the brakes lock up? what can i do?

 

Your truck has a RABS which is supposed to modulate pressure to the rear to prevent lockup. If you are getting a pull and vibration while braking you need to check for warped rotors. BTW your front brakes will lockup during panic braking. Justin

 

why do u think my rears would be locking then? they shouldnt be right. how can i fix it? let me know. thanks

 

How tight is your emergency brake pedal? It could be overtightened. Have you seen your RABS light on at all? I would remove back drums and inspect shoes and lube up the points where the shoes touch the backing plates. Justin
