cv axle

do i have to remove the 6 bolts connected to the transfer case to get the half shaft off?

The transfer case is back next to the tranny, so I'll assume you mean the differential. If I assume correctly, yes you have to remove the 6 bolts.

thanks i looked at the bolts do you happen to know what type of socket those take?

If you have the bolts that look like a star, then it's a regular socket, but it has to be a 12-point one.
