holley air mixture screw adjustment

Hi Everyone. I'm new here and could use your expertise.

I have a 1986 class C motorhome with a 460.
I rebuilt the carburetor and put it back on the engine.
Carb # E5HE-9510-ED Holley

It's got 2 air mixture screws in the front of the base plate under the Primary Metering Body. Because of the location of the distributor and vaccum hoses that connect on the block I can't get to one of the mixture screws, let alone see it or adjust it.

I am wondering, if I took the Primary Metering Body off of another carb that has air mixture screws on the side of the metering body and adjusted the air mixture with them and just closed the ones on the front of the base if that would work?

If it would work does anyone know what model carburetor I would have to get one off of? Does it have to be from a carb off of a 460?

Your help is much appreciated.
Thank you

I think I'd try removing the vac. lines that are in the way and plug them to see if access can be made. There should be enough room between the dizzy and the carb. I don't know for sure, but I don't think your other Idea will work. Maybe one of the pros will chime in.

Thanks fuzzybob.
I may have to do that. I just looked at it again and it seems to be a tree with about a half inch thread that screws into the manifold, with about 4 vac lines going to it.

If I pull that and plug the hole in the manifold would that work?

It doesn't need any of those vac lines for adjust the mixture screws does it?

Anyone else?

Thanks for the help

You can pick up some rubber caps to cap the tree. If you have , or can get, a vacuum gage you can plug it into the tree when you adjust the carb. Adjust for the highest vac. reading.

Thanks fuzzybob for the help.
you are right, I just talked to holley and the metering bodies won't interchange.
So I'm headed out to start taking off the vac lines and go from there.
Thanks again.

I poste another thank you just before this one but I think I sent it somewhere else.
Sorry to anyone it goofs up.
