6.0 Died on Road - Now crank no start HPO ???
Hi All -
Been a bit since I have been here but I figure when the 6.0 does funny stuff, this is the place.
Running down the road this afternoon 70 MPH all is good, truck suddenly dies. Prior to that running great no issues.
My employee comes and tows me home with old faithful 99 F350 Dually 300K +
Get truck in shop, battery voltage is OK 12.6V, replaced alternator 2 days ago.
Fuel Fuel is good, filter looks good reasonable clean.
Oil is clean and levels are fine.
Hpop, internal oil cooler and other related bits were replaced by reputable, ie non-shadetree, mechanic about 18K ago. Coolant filter on truck etc ...
Truck cranks but sounds funny when doing so, hooked up my AE and here is what the output was.
Trouble codes
Then I set up the AE and tried to crank the truck over my readings were :
ICP on CrankOver = 1574.3
ICP regulator = 52.73
ICP volts = 1.96
FICM Main Power = 47.00v
FICM Logic Power = 10.00v
Link to Video of AE in cranking mode
What am I missing here ?
What should I be looking for to chase this down ?
Thanks

Ok so tested the FICM this AM, this is the old style 7 screw FICM.
On top bolt per Swamps Diesel How-To
Key On Engine Off Voltage - 47.7
Engine Crank Voltage - 48.1
Key On Engine Off - CMP and CKP are in Sync = 0 bit
Key On Engine Crank - CMP and CKP are in Sync = 1 bit - Meter turns red Assuming this is not good ?
Trying to figure out where I go next for figuring this out. Trying to learn to fish so to speak...
Thanks All !

Your engine isn't turning fast enough. You need 150 rpm minimum to turn over.
possibilities:
bad starter
weak batteries or bad connections/grounds
pulley or A/C compressor locked up preventing proper engine cranking speed
slim chance, but MAYBE a bad cam sensor
you could try cranking w/ the belt off

Thank you, actually replaced the starter at the beginning of winter maybe late November, new batteries within the last 45 days, but here may be the culprit
AC pulley, just noticed it rattling Monday and was setting up to deal with it over the weekend.
I will pop the belt off and give it a whirl, then report back in the AM. It is now cocktail hour
Thanks

Good Morning All -
So it does appear that the AC Compressor or Pulley seized can't really tell from under the truck what one it is as it will not spin. It looks like I am in for a load of fun pulling that bad boy out.
Since the time and effort is really more expensive than the parts, I figure this is a good time to replace a 14 year old compressor clean out the AC system etc ??? Thoughts on that ?
Prior to this failure I have never had any AC issues with the truck and always had the ability to freeze people out of the truck in hot Mojave desert summers and the in the moist heat of the Midwest.
Thanks
