Blower tuned on by itself

Yesterday driving home the heat/AC turned on full bore by itself and would only blow warm air. It will turn off. The rear control works correctly but the front will not blow cool air. Any thoughts on this. Thanks! I guess I cant spell!

Used to be an indication of a relay that went bad, not sure if it still is... I used to buy a new blower relay each fall for my '77 F150, (and voltage regulator) it would only be when, not if for that truck.

You need to specifically identify which climate control system you have, whether manual or automatic.

I'm not sure either, that's why YOU have to go look at YOUR truck and identify WHAT YOU HAVE.

The systems operate differently, that is why it's imperative that you know and identify what you are asking about. Consult the owner's manual, if necessary. See signature.

What does the auto vs manual ones look like. The climate control in the truck has a Auto button. or you can adjust where air is blowing foot console or windshield.

Go look in your owner's manual. No more spoon-feeding.

Ithaca, you should create a signature with the basic details on your vehicle...like SHO89, me and many others have. This makes it very easy and quick for us to provide you with advice on your problem without having to guess what year and build features you have in your X.

Dang it guys,
manual is 3 round dials.

auto is the digital display with the "auto" button that allows fan speed to automatically adjust itself (hint hint) based on actual interior temp vs desired.
so, it sounds like you selected 75* when interior temp was (a lot - based fan speed) cooler, and the system tried to warm you up.

Might have bad interior sensor? I think it is near right knee in padded edge of lower edge of dash behind those slots.

Yes, I believe that is the proper diagnosis.
