Hey guys in my never ending cascade of failures today I got a number 4 misfire code. I already swapped the coil. When I looked up the plug for 5.4l on autozone and pepboys it lists a normal style plug not the snapping prone long thread kind. Can I be so lucky?

 

Check the emissions sticker under the hood and see if it has a spark plug number listed. If it does use that one and not any one listed on any auto parts website.

 

04 exp is the 2v with normal plugs (Thank god) for anyone else trying to do this, pickup 2 sets of ratchet extensions, 2 universal extension, socket drill adapter, magnetic retriver and a ryobi impact gun. I soaked the plug with carb cleaner an then used the battery power impact at half power. took about 5 minutes to pull the number 4 plug. The hardest part was getting the plug out after I unscrewed it. The magnetic retriever worked well though
