Oh yeah! That's it. Part of a ball point pen. The little pushy-thingy that goes click click. I know I'm getting technical, but I bet you all understand.

That actually fell out of the column. It is part of the left stalk near its base..........JK

Looks like mechanical pen guts to me.

Might wanna check under the drivers seat for the rest of the pen. If the ink barrel gets wedged under the seat track, things could get pretty messy!
