approximate price please-fuel tank, pump etc

Can someone give me a guess on what parts I need to replace my leaking front fuel tank. I'm guessing I'm needing a front fuel tank, tank straps, fuel pump. What else do I need? What am I looking at in prices for parts? And lastly what would you estimate a shop charge to install all? I'm thinking I'm gonna install it myself, but if it's not a labor intensive job I may opt to have someone install it. I'm an excessive planner and expect to do this job in April or May.

Thank you

Bob

Fuel filter, lock ring for the fuel pump(most tanks come with one), quick disconnect fuel line tool. Depending where you get parts, I would plan 100 for the tank, 150 for the fuel pump, 40 for the straps, 5 for the lock ring, 15 for the fuel line tool, 10 for the fuel filter. Probably cost 300 or so for labor depending on labor rates in your area. I would stay far away from airtex fuel pumps. I would recommend you do the work yourself if you can.

Great! Thank you for the info. I'm gonna give it a shot in a month or so. I'm retired and only work a few days a week so I plan on picking away at it. Gonna install new Bilsteins too.

I don't know where you usually shop, but advance auto has 20 percent off if you order online. They can deliver right to your house. I did check the prices on a few things and they were right around what first guessed it at. I haven't put many miles on it, but my Delphi fuel pump is still working good and is quieter than the one I took out.

I did mine a few years a ago and bought one from Autozone for around $300. It came with the tank, straps, lock ring, and the fuel pump already installed in the tank.

Any issues with the spectra fuel pump?

Glad you are having good luck with it. I thought about getting the preassembled tank when I did my rear tank, but I heard mixed things about spectra fuel pumps. I ended up just buying a tank so I could put a Delphi pump in it.

Since you have some time before you plan to do this, shop around online. I bought a Spectra tank at my local NAPA distribution center store for around $100, then found the same one at Amazon.com for less than $60. Delphi pumps are supposed to be good, so far mine's been good, but I don't have many miles on it yet.

I didn't put in a new tank since mine was just fine. I paid $6 for a cheap fuel line disconnect tool and $130 for a precision fuel pump that has been great for the past 1500 miles and is still going good.

All great info here and much appreciated. I'm a huge planner and researcher before I take on a task I haven't done before. It's even aggravating to me. I've been on both advance auto and autozone sites. I like the all in one product, tank, pump, straps and lock ring. I have a fuel line disconnect tool(s)that i purchased to change out the fuel filter on my motor home with an F-53 chasis.

Thanks again, I really like this site. Very helpful.
