Big Dog, Attached is the specs from the 66 owners manual showing all the sizes from F100 to F350. The original wheel size for the shortbed, and possibly long beds was 5 1/2"x15".

The second picture shows my truck with 215 75 R15 whitewall radials. My tire guy thought this woild be the closest to the original size tire. Hope this helps you out. Bob

Are you wantin different rims, and or ideas just being sure, this is what Im running on my 64

You'll need spacers only down side but because there 16s with low profiles, it kind of balances out with it having 15s originally, dousnt look as lost as they could on the wheel well, I've thought about trying some 230/60s maybe
90s dodge 16" rims with 90s ford center caps- 225/60/r16

Based on that wheel chart is it correct to say all half ton trucks with 5000 gvw came with 16 inch wheels?

Wheels

My truck came with 15X8 wheels with 3 inch backspacing and 255/70R-15 tires. This worked OK in the rear but the fronts stuck out passed the fender lip. Some folks like that look, but to me it looks stupid. I replaced them with Rocket Racing 17X8 wheels with 4 inch backspacing. 235/60R-17 on the front and 255/60R-17 on the rear. Also the 17 inch wheels eliminate any interference issues with the front calipers.

They are polished Strike's. The problem on these trucks is the 5 X 5 1/2 bolt pattern. It sorta limits the selection of styles and backspacing available.

really like the rim choice! was browsing their site and stumbled upon the booster series which I really like. never heard of the wheel company before but definitely adding them to the list of choices when the time comes.
