I just got this truck about a month ago. I had the transmission completely overhauled, new tires, new brakes, new catalytic, etc.

However, my Bronco will only shift out of 1st gear at VERY HIGH RPM's.

Other gears shift fine, but it also SLAMS HARD when put into reverse. Not all the time on the reverse issue, only sometimes. The issue with VERY HIGH RPM's to shift out of first gear is daily.

Thoughts?

 

Pull the codes. You can and most likely have issues and stored codes without a Check Engine Light (CEL).

 

You need yo pull the codes, the computer is not seeing input from one of the major sensors and has put the trans in limp mode.

 

Pull those codes. Also, is your ABS light on? I had a bad connection on the speed sensor at the rear diff.
