Spring weight rating??

I have a 92 f350 7.3l IDI cclb. What's the weight rating for my front springs? And the weight of the front end? Looking to put a new set of leafs under it and have a set off a f450 diesel. I Have a shackle reversal kit that makes up for the length difference.

Thanks!

Spring rate can be determined from the sticker inside the driver's door. A one letter code will tell what spring pack you have.

Weight of the front end? Run it across a CAT scale.

You have a "8" code front spring rated at 2,200lbs

A F450 has X code springs rated at 2,630lbs

Now, a F450 weighs about 1000lbs more than your truck to begin with,
So by putting a Heaver spring in a lighter truck will Kill what ride the RSK will be giving you

You want a U code Superduty spring(2,030lbs)

Going with the X code will net you the most height also, so that is something if to weigh in on also when trying to figure out what spring to go with.

I ran the super duty springs in my 97 f250 with a 351 in it and the ride was good, so not worried about the weighting being to heavy just wanted to make sure it would be enough. Thanks

Yes I want the most height I can get, that's why I went with the super duty springs to begin with

The Super Dutys came with different spring codes. If you want the most height out of the family of front springs than go with the X code. It may give you a little firmer ride but you will gain the most height on top of you using the RSK.

Then just go with a 5" RSK and Superduty springs if you want height. Or put a 6" OBS lift spring in if you dont care about the ride

Yes, I have the 5" rsk and x code superduty springs. Had them both on my previous truck. Just wanted to make sure the springs were heavy enough to support the diesel.

So you were not sure if a 15,ooolb gvw trucks springs would be heavy enough for your 9,200lb gvw truck? Seriously?
