Ok all, I have a 2011 F250 with a 6" lift on it. It has blocks right now, but I'm switching out to Fabtech's 6" leaf pack. I was wondering if anybody knew if my towing capacity would be compromised, or if they make them to oem spring rates? Anybody tow with a lift who can give me some advice?
It may be compromised a bit? Generally aftermarket springs, with a deeper arch, are meant to ride softer. If you have huge weight on your hitch, towing may be a bit "spongier". If your weight isn't huge, you may end up with a nice supple ride that will put a smile on your face.
I decided I didn't want to risk it. I'm lowering the truck with a 2.5" Icon lift and putting in a 4" f350 rear block. It still amazese that Ford puts in blocks on a truck that hauls so much. If they put them on F350's, I'm sure I'll be fine
most all lift springs are softer. If you change your mind again, use the 6 inch springs and add airbags. I can pretty much guaranteed you will need to fab mounts for the bags but it solves the spring rate issue.
