Im sure there is lots of you out there running with a spring lift in the rear. My question is are there any out there that come close to stock as far as strength. Do any support airbags? How long they last? What is the payload?
I have a 6in block lift now, and am thinking about going spring. Over time the springs really take a beating on the blocks. Im just looking for an option over block
From what I've seen most of the aftermarket springs have approximately same load ratings, though most are a bit softer for the better ride. Probably would need to augment them with airbags if the truck does any amount of towing.
Nothin right now but eventually a job trailor not over 5-6K. I was surprised to see that skyjakers springs are supposedly equall to or greater than oem. Im not convinced though, all the trucks i see with spring lifts are saggin bad when you put a trailor of any kind behind them. This is why i hesitant. But my stock springs are about shot, drivers side, fuel tank side sits about a 1/2 lower sometimes and the "wrap" drives me nuts. Traction bars are the cure for the block set up but in order to do it right i need new stock springs and the bars = $$$$$. So since im not towing right now just average bed payload im might do the springs if i get can more imput
if u check into superlift they cually show you the spring rate..pro comp and fab tech dont because they are softer for a better ride, but seriously you bought a super duty and lifted it so you would have a cadillac ride RIGHT haha...
Look into Deaver springs, only marketed by Donahoe racing. You would want to fab up a 3-4" block to set on top of the springs, to attach the bags to, if you were to use the airbags. The bags are designed for stock springs no matter how much block.
I have a 6' Pro-Comp All Spring Lift w/PC Traction Bars and The heavy duty firestone air bags in the rear. This system workes quite well for my application. 99 F-250 4x4 AT 6" PC Lift w/35" Nitto Grapplers..And many other Go fast Mods..
