Question Kit's or system?

What is the difference between a lift kit and a lift system and what is better?

on a lift kit you get either add a leaf or rear blocks.on a system you get rear springs.

Kit's or system?

Generally, the difference is in how they lift the rear of the vehicle. And kits are cheaper.

"kits" will use blocks

"systems" will use a new leaf spring in the rear to achieve the lift.

In terms of which is better, depends on how you want to use the truck. If you plan to tow, get the block in the rear. Since it retains your stock springs you retain their weight capacity.
Lift springs are made to to achieve the lift and at the same time give you a soft ride. To get the soft ride they have to decrease spring rate which decreases weight capacity. Or, if you want springs in the back and will tow look into load assist air bags for the rear.
If you don't plan to tow I would go with the springs.

Hope this helps.

A softer ride does not necessarily mean less weight capacity. The springs from an aftermarket company like superlift, have like 10 leaves on them vs the stock 5ish. That will make a better ride but not change the amount of weight it will carry. Hands down the new leaf springs are the best, they have no drawbacks to them except price. Blocks are cheap, but will increase axle wrap. Add-a-leaf will stiffen the ride. As a general rule of thumb the more you pay the more you get, and with the system you get the best parts for the best ride and strength. The kit is more for the person who would rather save a few bucks and sacrifice the strength and a little ride quality.
