Kinda OT - When I look back...

I remember, a few or more days back, my first boss standing next to me under the open hood of a '67 Catalina 389. "Some day you're going to know where all of these wires go and what they do."

Today I think of looking back at him and saying, "Really? I'll know where all seven of those wires go???"

Can you guys even imagine people trying to restore 2004 Lincoln Navigators 20-30 years from now? There must be a thousand circuits on new technology-based cars.

My lowly '98 S-10 has 3 separate fuseboxes and at least 40 fuses. But the real question is, will anyone want to restore a Navigator 20-30 years from now?!

....and there was a time you could by a Hemi Road Runner in the classifieds for $1200, or a Shelby GT350 for 7-800.
Nobody thought those cars were worth it. I think we as humans should learn one lesson: You'd be surprised what people think is worth saving many years in the future.

Think of how many pre-'57 Ford trucks have been mercilessly scraped by some guy thinking...."yeah, nobody's ever gonna want this piece of junk!"

oh, really?

I remember when I first started driving a Bonus Built in '79, some people would ask why such an old truck... My reply has always been it's cool! Back then everyone wanted cars and trucks from the 60's. There were a few mid 50's vehicles running around then within a year I saw a lot more of the early one running around. It's a lot different then this newer cars... here in AZ (the county) controls thing with having to run emissions if the vehicle was built after '66. I like my older vehicles
