the 89 4x4 conversion

i have a clean 89 f150 single cab short box i6 that id like to convert to 4x4. ive found myself a 95 with a 302 thats got a trash body but low mileage, i know that suspension wise everything will fit but the donor truck is a 5 speed standard and my 89 is auto. what do i have to do to make that all work? will the pedals bolt right up? does the 302 flywheel fit the 300? any other information i havent thought of would be a great help!
thanks!

The clutch pedal assemblies are different. Can't use them.

Is the balance the same for both? I assume you don't want to find a 4wd automatic

No you cannot use the 5.0 flywheel on the I6.. wrong balance weight. Why not put your body on the '95 rolling chassis?

Why not get a 4x4 automatic transmission and bolt it up to your existing I-6?
Then use the donors TC & driveline.

Or just get a different truck that is optioned like you want. They made millions of them. Unless you really know what you are doing and have access to a good lift, even something seemingly simple like a frame swap will become an overwhelming task and one that's likely to bog down.

Something about that statement struck me as funny. In how many circles do you think "simple" and "frame swap" would belong in the same sentence? Mind you, I'm not criticizing the statement in this forum. I think it fits fine. But it does point out that we aren't "normal"!

Nearly 30 yrs ago I did a cab swap over the weekend on my 1970 F100. To this day, the VP at work gives me grief about it. Always making wise azz comments about "what are you doing this weekend?" And then making up some out of this world project that no one could possibly do in 2 days. That is except a deranged gear head like me.

I'm thinking that he has a short bed and the donor has a 133" WB.
