2005 f250 240,000 mile has been hard starting a couple of days in the low 20's. Fires and stalls, got it start the first time it acted up but had to long crack with throttle to the floor. A week later would not start at all again fired and stalled. Plugged it in for 2 hours and fired right up. I had the FICM replace at about 150K and all glow plugs at 130K I will check it this weekend. Am I looking at another ficm or something else? Whats the trick to getting them started when they fire and stall. Need to go on a trip and can't plug truck in at airport and temps will be in the teens next week!
Sounds like it could be injector sticking. If it stumbles a little until it's warmed up and the ficm checks out good then try 2 bottles of revx in the oil. It worked for me before.
read codes bad #8 glow plug. Replaced all 8 with harness. 25f this morning would not start. Fires and stalls? Been running rev x for about three years? Will be testing ficm today

If you need to take the truck to the airport where this is no option to plug it in and just have no other option, a butane torch applied VERY carefully to just warm up the entirety of the FICM case so that it is uncomfortably warm to the touch might well make the difference for you in getting the truck to start.
If your issue IS indeed the FICM, just please also check out the alternator and batteries on a bench. These modules don't kill themselves.
tested ficm 47.8 when it was cold however I did not test it when it was running. It does fire right up after plugging in. This morning cranked 4 or 5 times no start. plugged it in 1:45 later fired right up?
In order to have a proper FICM test, you need readings key on engine off, during cranking, and right after it starts when stone cold. Anything else will give you a false sense of reality.
If you have never replaced the FICM power relay, I would suggest you do that first. It is a 70amp relay and not interchangeable with the other relays. I had similar symptoms to you and that fixed mine.
