I'm going to change my thermostat and all of the radiator hoses on my 96 f150. One hoses on the O' Reilly Web site asks if the truck has an SVT package. I'm just wondering what that might be just to expand my knowledge a little bit. Thanks guys!

 

The SVT package would be a Lightning. They were only made from 93-95.

 

I believe and am not sure but I believe the Lightening had the pancake oil cooler between the filter and block, it could have something to do with that?

 

That's not it my f250 5.8 had the pancake oil cooler.

 

The Lightning was introduced in 93 I think and discontinued in 95. It was a modified truck built by the Ford SPECIAL VEHICLE TEAM. My 07 GT500 engine was hand assembled by SVT and a signed plaque with both tech names that built it attached to the motor. The SVT Lightning came back in 99 with a Super Charger.

Since 95 was a crossover year for your year truck, the hose probably works on either. Although, I have never seen any parts or has a parts person asked me if my 95 had an SVT package. I sure wish it did.
