2016 2.7 Supercab friday afternoon special
I went in for my first oil change at the dealer yesterday and reported some fitment issues with the body panels.
- rear bumper kicked to the left 1/4" (its flush with one side and 1/2" off on the other)
- front drivers fender is too far in at the front and too far out at the rear
- both doors do not sit flush with the rear supercab doors
I noticed the bumper, figured I'd fix it myself later. Then noticed the doors and figured it wasn't a big deal. Then i noticed the fender one day at lunch and its just inexcusable at this point. I think the new guy put that fender on at 4:30 on a friday.
Anyhow, the dealer said the fender and bumper can be fixed no problems but the doors might not be right when all is said and done. I asked "so ford can't build a supercab truck with doors that are right anymore? because my ranger 4 door supercab was perfect". He kinda hemmed and hawed a bit and advised me not get my hopes up too much about the doors.
I really think ford can do better than this.
So, I'm here wondering if anyone else with a supercab has had this issue.

The doors on my Super Crew have been twisted counter-clockwise (or clockwise depending on perspective) since new at the bottom (tops look OK). Dealer said they would take it to a body shop and it would be out of service for 3-4 days. I have not taken it in, and have mostly decided to live with it.
BTW - None of our Toyota trucks have been anything less than perfect (but I wasn't out there with a micrometer either).

I figure if they never hear about it they won't know to fix it. I buy ford because I believe they make the best stuff. I have zero brand loyalty even though in my bones I root for ford above all other car makers so maybe that's why I don't mind holding them to the standards they have set elsewhere.

This isn't anything new. Had Dad's '81 in for restoration and the guy called asking me to bring Rusty up for examination since the doors on Dad's didn't fit the cab right. But Rusty's doors don't fit the cab right, either. And we got to looking and none of that era's doors fit the cabs right. In fact, it is obvious in the brochures.
But, there is now one of those trucks whose doors fit right.
