Clever front license plate install

Remove holder by drilling out the pop rivet with 1/8 inch bit, bolt new plate holder from Advanced Auto, $ 4.99.. The existing plastic which the rivets were removed from, hold the license plate with the original 5/16 Ford screws.

Some states that type mount will probably be illegal.

Many states are using the mobile license plate readers and are starting to ticket drivers for unreadable plates for which that installation might fall. For a while there was a sure fire route to a ticket in NY with the smoke colored plate covers and it is illegal, although harder to enforce, plate covers which block the laser beam used in laser speed readers. The hidden target in the center of the plate allows the laser greater distance and accuracy. Enjoy the freedoms we have now even as they dwindle. With the forced black boxes and advances in technology I can foresee tickets being written by a computer in some other state for everything from speed to stop sign to red light to parking. It is truly becoming a Brave New World.

As a retired cop I will tell you, in NY, that could be considered unreadable or obstructed view.....Personally I would only write it...if I got the "don't you have anything better to do" speech....but then again, I'm a nice guy!!!!

That looks slick but I bet you'll draw more attention from cops with it like that than if you didn't have it on the front to begin with. But what do I know I'm just a police officer.

That looks great ☺
So question for those of you who may know the answer.
What about the places that don't even give out front plates.
Not sure if any states don't.
But some provinces in Canada will not even issue a front plate to mount.
So in places that want you to have a front plate, what happens if you get stopped there?

Big, no no here in Ontario, Canada.

Hell, I was pulled over once in my EcoBoost when it was new. Cop didn't see the licence plate to the side. We both had a laugh.. After...

States recognize each other's laws. Officers may not agree but the states have reciprocal agreements.

Tennessee has only one plate. On my dump truck I put it on the rear, turns out ,it was supposed to be on the front. I asked DMV how big does a truck have to be before it has to be on the front, they intimated it was up to me!

You are required to display the plates DMV issues you. If they issue 1 then just the rear. If two, front and rear. Also the front plate is required to be on the forward most part of the vehicle. So windshields and what not don't count.

Florida also only requires a rear plate, once you cross our border you're good to go.

It would be OK in FL, cause we don't have front plates and no inspections either.
