Controlling Moisture during winter use?

Besides the usual condensation on windows, we are finding it else where in cabinets. Any suggestions for minimizing it during the winter months?

If its moisture while using it just open the cupboards to let warm air in.

If it's moisture while sitting then as suggested get the moisture packages from wally world and put them around the inside.

Thanks for the suggestions. We are using it this winter in Denver. A lot of the moisture we are seeing is on the windows and the back of cabinets in the slides. Thankfully, the sun was out and above freezing today so the wife opened all the cabinets, cracked a window and turned on the vent fans to air the place out.

As you just mentioned, vent fans and open windows is the best way that I have found to keep it dry while in use. If you are on hook-ups, a small dehumidifier would be a good choice.

The moisture on the windows isn't the end of the world just make sure your weep holes are clear so if there is accumulation it can drain.

As was suggested cracking a vent will let some of the moisture out.

I suggested to open your cupboards some it will warm them up and the condensation won't build up as bad. If your bed is in the slide check between it and the wall you might get moisture build up there also.

Keep an eye in the corners of your cupboards, closets for black areas (mold) in the seams. A mild cleaning solution will eliminate it.

How was it in the trailer when it was -12F in Denver last week? Had a lot of friends not enjoying that. We're from there but are in Texas currently. I'm not sure how our trailer would do - even though its a closed belly....

Also have a humidity problem here as well - A lot of people have shown me that little dehumidifer that DL222 mentioned below - but I've heard varying reports on its effectiveness. One plus is it can be used with 12V.

Does it do a decent job pulling water out?

We only made it down to -2 in Aurora. This weekend will be a different story. The Solitude did pretty well. Our water did not freeze up but our tank valves did. Several people here completely froze up.

I didn't have the utility heater in the basement set up correctly, but do now. I had the thermo king temp control outlet in the basement near the heater.... now it's outside.

my 5th wheel has a heater outlet in the basement on along the underside belly by the tanks.

Does yours have that?

Not that I have found. I have that heater running to the CG power pedestal. I do have tank heater pads though.

Jerky's 06 F350,

As cold as it is there your Solitude looks like it should handle the cold fairly well by looking at the brochure.
I think what senix means is duct work and by the Grand design brochure you have a fully heated under belly/ storage bay (pg 5). Keeping in mind that it gets the heat from the furnace. You could plug in a 100 watt light bulb down there and it will give off heat.

-2 will test your rig for sure.

I would think it would be setup with some duct work like mine.

A light bulb is an excellent idea as well.

I relooked mine up. I have the duct work, all through the underside and heated tanks as well.

Coldest we have camped in though was right around 10F.
