I installed my Craigslist used mirrors today and it is a big improvement over the regular mirrors. The wide angle mirrors leave a little to be desired but will do for me.

+1 More for 1A Auto mirrors and not the cheap Ebay/Amazon ones. I went that way and regret the decision every time I look in my mirrors for any length of time (especially backing up my trailer). The glass is cheap and distorted, like looking in a funhouse mirror. Spend the extra money now and no regrets like me later.

I've heard people say this but my 08 plug and play off ebay are about as good as the factory mirrors they replaced... I don't know how much a1's mirrors are compared to ebay to recommend one way or another but just keep in mind it's a mirror. They get other mirrors bounced off them all the time, especially when they stick out like ours do. Don't go spending a ton of money on em, only to be heartbroken when you walk back to your truck and it's cracked from getting bumped.

1A Auto '08 folding heated ones...after the V/Modded B spring swap, best mod I've done (even better than the F650 dash).

A note on those who had mirror flex issues...some people complained that the 08s had 'wavy' mirrors...I found when you adjust them sometimes they do flex a bit (giving them the 'wavy' look). I discovered if you simply adjust 'too far' in one direction and then bring them 'back', the wave goes away. I read that one guy sent his back due to that and wondered if all he had to do was fiddle a little with the switch.

Yeah, they shouldn't flex at all, but considering the average Joe sets his mirrors and leaves them there, the adjust issue is minor considering the acres of blind spot the '08s give you.

Oh, and power fold, power fold, power fold. I lost track of how many times I've wondered if I'd have mirrors when I came back from a trip to the store (people parking close)...the power fold option is awesome.

outnumberedone...have you tried adjusting them 'too far' and bringing them back the other way to see if you can take the flex out of them? My set from 1A had the same issue but all it took was jacking with the switch a bit and the flex disappeared.

Robert I Ross I never have tried that but I will though. I've gotten pretty used to them and chalk it up to a lesson learned through the process of building up my EX. This is the first place I skimped a bit on price before researching. Had I known of the complaints of glass quality on the Amazon ones I bought, I would have never bought them.

3. OEM '08 style mirrors and do the wiring myself (I assume this is the most costly route)

Go with you opinions on these options!

Personally I would love OEM power folding and power telescoping, but I am not ready to dump $1000+ on mirrors.

Thanks,

I have a 2005 ford f350 with the old crappy mirrors. I went with 1a auto and purchase the trail ridge (aftermarket) tow mirrors from them. have the power fold feature. Unfortunately, I have been having issues with these mirrors. After installing them couple test runs of the power fold feature after several days and even weeks, the mirrors would fail folding in. When you fold in manually, and hit the switch to fold out, it would work fine. for some reason I'm just having issue with this brand of trail ridge and the product. I'm about to pull the trigger and get some oem, I have the extra switch to fold in and out, I might just splice in the the mirror harness for the fold feature and call it a day.

I had the same issue with a pair of those earlier this year. Driver's side failed to fold in about two days after install. I contacted customer service and they sent another pair that have worked okay since.

08+ is a way better mirror than previous options...I almost wonder if you could add them to a 2017+ superduty as those look more like 99-07 size from pics...

Thanks everyone. I ordered new ones from A1. Just need some time to put them on. Look good in the box. Will look better in the truck.
