My current 2014 f150 displays all six gears on the dash which you can turn off if you prefer. Does the new 10 speed on the 2017's display all 10 gears?

Good question. I searched for 20 minutes and all the dash pictures look like the 15/16 but they are in park so no gears are displayed.

Ive only watched the one video showing the gears and it ran through all the gears. They never mentioned turning the function off to only show current gear but would be a nice option with that many gears to run through.

It's not just a preference. When you have them lit up, you can press the minus button (in drive) and lock out upper gears! Nifty feature for going down hills

When I'm going down long hills I just put it in tow haul. As soon as the truck starts coasting faster it automatically downshifts. If you hold the brake for a couple of seconds it will also downshift. Your right though, being able to disable gears is great. I don't know if the competitors trucks have that.

Using tow/haul is very aggressive on down shifting. More aggressive than I am comfortable with. I like using the plus/minus buttons, as it gives me more control.

Drove Chevy work trucks with the same setup.
