Happy Thanksgiving--Remember this?

Back in 2011, the weather was cold, a lot of members were very active, and a LOT of us were very bored. There had been some recent drama on the board, and lots of colorful characters were hanging around, and a lot of us had just had some funny experiences (I traded a steer for a truck, Brain got stuck on the freeway, etc.) So I imagined what a Thanksgiving dinner would be like with a lot of the members at the time. This was actually before the first ever Truckstock, so hardly none of us had even met. The veterans will understand a lot of this. Somebody ought to do an updated version. Some of the characters have passed away, others have just simply disappeared. Wow, it's been 5 years......

Disclaimer: If I missed you, I apologize, but consider yourself lucky. If I didn't, get over it!

I can just see it now:

Doc: Come in everybody! I'm glad it only took you 2 weeks to find my house. Sorry about the outdoor toilet.

Havi: I had to wade through 3 feet of snow to get here

brain75: My truck broke down on the freeway.

mechmagcn: I told you to put that Mercedes engine in it!

Arrowheadfred: I drove 110 mph to get here. Sorry about all the police out in your driveway.

Jeff: Where can I buy silverware like this?

51panelman: I have three sets. PM sent.

Bob: Here! Use my plasma cutter to carve that bird.

Jeff: Hey! This turkey isn't done!

Firstrider: Shove this Magic Air tube up its a$$ and stick it back in the oven. That'll take care of it.

Albuq F1: Before you do that, check the compression and pull the head if needed.

john fin: These cranberries are crap! Chinese made!

Numberdummy: Actually, the bar code for them states U.S. made. 3 cans still available at the corner market and ten available at the store on the other end of town.

reed1951: Did anybody work on their truck today?

Everybody: NOPE!

Jeff: I did! I did! My wife made me.

Homade: Hey who brought the frosty beverages?

Truxx1956: I would have, but you left me at the KY speedway and made me walk home.

GBSISSON: Hey doc! Where did you get this turkey?

Doc: I'm not sure. I traded a goat for it.

Mtflat: According to the wrapper number, it was hatched on April 14th, white in color, male, raised on farmer john's ranch, and number 2243 to get the ax.

Bob: You need to check craigslist or ebay....might have gotten it cheaper

rhopper: Who's taking pictures of this momentous occasion?

tacson: I am!

harleymsn: After dinner, we'll all take a ride in the back of Edith.

jmadsen: Hey! Who is that cross-dresser messing around with my F6 in the driveway?

edzakory: Do you want me to shoot him with my Glock?!

ibuzzard: It looks like JULIE!

Brain75: Who's Julie?

Everybody: GET HIM!!! We'll explain later!

4tl8Ford: Good. I'll eat the food while they beat the crap out of Dan.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING GUYS!!! Don't send the mental health professionals to get me until after I eat tomorrow. "

Happy Thanksgiving!

Hi Folks! I just renewed for another 3 years! I don't post anywhere near as much as I use to, but I still login and see what's goin on. It's hard to believe I have been on here since Early Summer of 2010 and I still am not anywhere near driving my truck! Oh well...I don't mind too much...I have too many other things that keep me away...like kid cars...LOL
Nicolle and I are "empty nesters" now and you would think it would be easy to get in the garage...I am learning what age does to a body these days...Knees ache, shoulders don't rotate like they use to...memory is cluttered...I gotta work alot harder to get done a lot less.
But I will get there someday. I have always enjoyed this forum. I only had one bad experience...(Julie-Dan....if you can read this...SUCK IT!!)
LOL always an idiot in the crowd...But he/she is the only one I ever had problems with. You all feel like an extension of my family. Thank You for that!
Jeff

Funny stuff Doc. I remember some of the drama.
I cooked a roadkill turkey once....the car in front of me hit it and kept going. It was delicious.

A lot of things have changed for us in the last five years, some good, some not so good.

I basically closed my business and got a job working for one of my former customers, the not so good. The good, We gained a new member of the family, my oldest son got married about two months ago. We moved off the farm so the son and his wife can continue dairy farming. My wife and I bought a small farmette about five miles from the farm. My youngest son has a girlfriend and is busy working in the construction trade. He also bought a dog.

Just to add to Doc's original description of the FTE Thanksgiving feast now that some of have met:

Bobj49f2: Doc, I'll be a little late. We made a stop in Harlin and have to let the brakes cool down after coming over this big mountain. Save some turkey for us.
