Nice motorhome!

The E4OD transmission needs Mercon V. Ford specified Dexron III for the C6.

Update: after changing the mechanical fuelpump (new one ist from Delphi), new houses, noe glow plugs, new glow plug controller and new injector caps kit the engine started very well!!!! We had a lot of air in the system, especially the injection pump needed a lot of cranking to get "airfree".
Now i'll change all oils and the cooling water.
A question: Which motors have the cavitation problem? Only the 7.3 or both 6.9 and 7.3?

I think most diesels can suffer from cavitation, however, the 7.3 is a modified 6.9 with a .040 (?) bored cylinder. So it would be the 7.3l that is more prone to cavitation.

Hello Chris, Welcome from Oregon. As Dieselamour stated the 7.3 is prone to cavitation but the 6.9 will benefit from maintaining the cooling system by using a heavy duty diesel coolant as well.

Hi Chris,

you may also want to check the German motorhome forum under motorhome-europe.de.

We are a bunch of friendly people with a great gathering once a year and regular meetings of the East, South and North chapters.

You will not find more experience with US motorhomes in Germany than there.
