Pondering getting a 6.0 powerstroke for my crew cab

I have a 1979 crew cab and have came across a wrecked 07 Crew cab powerstroke. Im thinking I want to put my crew cab body on that frame. I was wondering if anyone has done this or if there is a build thread or anything anywhere. I know I would have to shorten the frame and there will be a lot of other fabrication as well. Any thoughts or ideas would be great!

Right on I'll try and search for that. I found several others but they are taking the engine out of the donor truck and swapping it in. I wanna swap bodies

6.0 doesn't have a stellar reputation, but with some $ you can address most of their issues. To put another way, when I ride my motorcycle I can always tell when I'm near a 6.0 equipped truck because I can smell it.

Why not a 7.3 with some speed parts thrown on?

Also, if you're set on a 6.0, I'm super excited to see where it goes! To each their own (;

Though if you said 6.4, I'd tell you to run like hell.

Right on. I have found a few later 90s 7.3s that I was pondering as well which may be the way ill go. that way I could drive it thru the winter and start the project in the spring.

Are we talking IDIs or PSDs. IDIs are good motors as well, and cheap as can be, as are the parts... I don't know if that's a route you thought of?

I think there is a difference between pre 97 PSDs and 97 and up PSDs, someone else will be able to tell you better than I would!

I KNOW!! I read all 20 pages of that thread and was severely disappointed when it just dropped off lol. I hate when that happens but there is really quite a bit of good info on there, I have it bookmarked for reference. That guy did a pretty sweet job! I wonder what ever happened with that?

I remember seeing a thread where they cut the firewall and floor out of the 70,s truck and welded it onto the Superduty cab floor. If you decide to go for it definately post a build thread.
