Airbag light on where to look?

Just stabbing in the dark can cost money. That being said was the steering wheel
moved while the body was off? If the wheel was not tied so that it could not turn
then you may be looking at the clock spring being damaged. The switches and airbag
are on a coil of fine conductive flexible trace and if you put too much stress on the
coil it will break and cause this type of problem. Best thing to do is anytime that
the shaft from the wheel is not connected to the steering box is to tie it off to the
brake peddle so it won't get turned.
BUT FIRST THINGS FIRST get a code reader and see where it things the problem
is located. Once you know that then you can start on to the next steps.

I don't remember exactly how,, but airbag codes can be ran without a scanner. The light will flash the codes. Prob a clock spring like Sean said. Horn n cruise might not work also if it is the clock spring is damaged bad enough. Otherwise it could be the light on the passenger side of the dash. Does the "pass airbag on" light (if you have one) by the power point illuminate at koeo. The light being burnt out will set the light also. But prob the clock spring.

Hmm, well I didn't tie the wheel down when body pulled however I did make note of the issue and was careful not to move it during the repairs and I'm pretty sure it didn't move. Cruise and horn still work and passenger airbag light are not illuminated. I think it does blink and stuff but I haven't determined the bips yet. Thanks for the tips.

Okay I checked it with engine running. The light is on and then after a few seconds goes off, then it flashes twice, pauses, flashes seven times, pause, twice, then seven, then twice, then seven. It does this for a while and then Stays steady on.
I tried the passenger airbag key switch with a spare key while engine running, and engine off, and nothing seems to illuminate that light so you may be right the key switch is to blame. Somewhat odd since it probably never got switched in its entire life but maybe that's the problem. Can I bypass the switch in the dash? I don't have any babies and I'm not planning on having any either.

Did you go look at the POST I linked to?
I am willing to bet you just have a bad lamp. Don't start throwing parts at it.
You have a DTC that points to a lamp and not the switch. Why replace the switch?
The lamp will cost less too.
