Front wheel bearing noise!
Just had both front wheel bearings replaced. My wife noticed a very minor whine from the front end. I trained her well because it was very hard to hear, but she did! Service guy tried telling me they weren't covered. Told him he needs to double check because they are. after talking to the service manager he came back and said "I guess they are!"
The bearings in these Explorers must be an issue. I test drove about 10 and 2 of those had noisy wheel bearings. And I`ve done a few at work. so they must have a high failure rate!
Any way, they are covered under the Powertrain warranty 5 years 60k miles. At least t he 13`s are, not sure if it changed on the later ones.
