Better receiver hitch?

Torklift makes both a 20k and 30k lb dual receiver replacement hitch, they are much heavier than the factory hitches. I have the 20k one and it is a serious piece of hardware, very heavy duty.

An upgraded hitch won't change the overall trailer ratings. The hitch might be rated for 100k (I exaggerate slightly) but your truck will still be rated for 14k (less with options taken into consideration).
I would consider the aftermarket hitch only if it A) costs less and/or B) has better features.

I tow an 11k TT with 1400+ tongue weight, so my factory hitch was being asked to handle more than it was rated for, add to that 11 years worth of rust, corrosion and use (and abuse ) it was time for some updating. The new Torlift 20K SuperHitch is crazy beefy compared to the factory hitch, and a much better match for how we use our rig.

Yeah, I've been talking to several 'supervisors' today.
Best I've gotten is I can pay the difference between whats authorized and any 'upgrade' I want to make.
So I'll probably buy one myself and submit the bill for reimbursement.
No way in hell they're putting a junkyard hitch on my truck.

Their insurance is also my insurance, State Farm.
I have had nothing but good service from them.
In a way, I understand the process going on here, and if this part wasn't a critical safety element I wouldn't have as much of a problem.
It stems from their ignorance of how automobiles work and the forces involved in towing.

They are restoring you to whole.
Usually the body shop will have to order in the used part and if they are not like new, aka rusty, worn, etc then they can use new parts.
