squeaky serpentine belt
I have a 2000 F150 with 54000 miles. When I am at Idle and in Drive with the brake on, there is a squealing sound (not very loud) coming from my serpentine belt. The belt seems tight, what can I do to make sure it is tight enough?

Check these out in order of appearance. Here is what I would look for (I just had this problem fixed two days ago - anyone feel free to jump in and correct this if I'm wrong!):
Check for bad bearings, I have even heard of the spring in the Tensioner getting clogged with dirt and not providing the proper tension.
This link will take you to a site that has a more complete list, I only included the above 3 items as my problem turned out to be bad alternator bearings.

Hope this helps.

I seee that the link didn't work.

Use this one and click on Repair Info, then Troubleshooting on the left hand side. You should be able to navigate from there.
Good luck.

NEVER use stop squeal or any type of belt dressing on a serpentine belt, it will build up on all of the pulleys and cause other problems. If it's making noise, it pretty much just needs to be replaced. to be sure it is the belt, you can make the noise stop temporarily by spraying brake cleaner on it. if that makes the noise stop temporarily (until the cleaner all evaporates), then it's the belt, go somewhere and get a new one, and i can find nothing better than a goodyear gatorback belt from autozone, they can be somewhat more pricy then your generic CHEAP $10 serp belt, but for the $40-$50, i never see them having to be replaced.
