Will a transfer case from a 86 F250 fit in a 86 F150?
Just wondering if a NP 208 F transfer case from a 86 F250 will fit on 86 F150 with a NP 208 F transfer case. As some of you may know the anullus hub on my transfer case crapped out 'see pic below'. I was planning on rebuilding it but I found a rebuilt t-case on ebay from which according to my research is from a F-250. All the numbers and letters match except the model#. My model# is E4TA7A 195AA and the rebuilt one is E4TA7A 195CA. I assume the model from the F250 is almost identical, except for maybe some beefed up internals.
Just wanted to know if it'll fit without any issues. The cases seem identical on the outside. I just have to go out to my garage in a bit to count the splines on my F150 since the rebuilt one has 31 spline out the back and 32 spline in front. Also if anyone knows where I can get the anullus hub for my existing one, that would be awesome, thank you in advance. It's kinda weird it burnt out like that. I don't thing this fork uses inserts since there's no knotches in the arm to hold them. Kinda makes me leery on rebuilding it since judging by this pic, it almost looks like the case was run dry or low before I bought the truck.

Are you talking about an electric motor that would switch the transfer case for you? 2H 4H N L that kind of thing. I interpreted "electronic" to be "computer-controlled" not merely assisted by an electric motor.

You can actually push the button to go into 4x4 driving down the road at speed. It engages the electric clutch in the transfer case to wind up the front driveline, and then it tells the electric motor to engage into 4hi. It won't let it shift into 4lo unless you are stopped and have it in neutral and the clutch pushed in.
Of course all this gives a lot of trouble and quits working after a few years.

1987 was the first yr a push button T-case was available, I believe they were only available with the 302/AOD combo that yr, and that they were only Borg Warner cases while the manuals were still 208s. But to the Ops question, its a very good chance they'll interchange, the only poss issue I've seen is between 208 and 208F models

I finally found the anullus hub part I needed for my existing t-case super cheap on ebay. I'm trying to keep this build within a certain budget and I'd rather dump that money into new door/window trim, rear bumper and other parts right now instead of a $450 + shipping rebuilt t-case. I found all the parts I need to rebuild it myself for less than $200 shipped. Plus I get the educational value, satisfation and experience of doing it myself. Thanks for all the help everyone.
