Soft brake pedal, F350 hydraulic assist.
the brakes have gone soft on my dually. have to pump the pedal to get any feel at all.
what have folks done for replacement pads and or rotors?
I have just over 48,000 miles, about 1/4 of that towing 5th wheel.

In my limited experience when you have to pump the pedal and this brings it up, you have a bad master cylinder.

Ford replaced the pads (at 35% the service rep said) and did the brake fluid 30,000 mile service. and all is well. pedal is back high and solid.
not what I would have expected.. But for $700. it better work!..

It was the bleeding of the system that was needed.

hard to say. But a low pedal can be pads worn out, soft pedal where you pump it is air or lack of fluid.
It could be that you were so low you were sucking air from the reservoir. Just hard to say without looking at it myself.
