460 timing help

Hey guys as stated before I have this 460 all built up. I sort of got the initial timing set up. Here's the delema. When it's advanced. The truck runs good, more tourque and sounds better. But at idle it doesn't sound good at all. I retarded the initial allot. And the idle sounds way better. And pulls good 4-5500 rpms. But now I have a slight stumble and I feel like I lost power midrange. Should I try leaving the initial and change springs so timing comes in earlier. ? I'm not sure when it's all in to begin with
