Trimming my EBPV flap

Can I trim about 1/8-3/16 off the od of my ebpv flapper, and it still hold my truck going downhill? I think it keeps getting caught on my dp. When I just tried my new chip, even in heavy tow my egts are rising fast. When I kick my ebpv in then out when I'm getting high egts sometimes they get better, sometimes they dont.

As I see, you yous the EBPV as a exhaust brake, right? Why do you think it keeps getting caught on your DP?. And why do you kick the valve IN when driving (towing)?
I guess that the programming in the chip is not OK, IDK or the mechanism of the valve is working wrong, but not caugt for the DP IMHO. BTW What chip is it?
