Need help identifying part

My phone camera quit on me or I would have a pic. The part is on the passenger side of my 460 engine, coming out of what used to be the PCV location on the valve cover. Its a metal cylinder about the size of life savers candy with an electrical plug on the bottom and a vacuum hose on top going into the "PCV" location in the valve cover. There is no longer a vacuum hose connected to it and the "plug" wires go into the fuel injector wiring on the same side. Anyone know what this part is? Thanks in advanced . Jim

I believe that is the canister purge solenoid.

Does it look like this?:

But mine has the wires on the bottom and the top sits right off the valve cover and T's off off the PCV hole in the cover

That doesn't really matter. What happens if you flip the solenoid in the picture over? The wires are now on the bottom.

Regardless, it's your canister purge solenoid. There are no solenoids in that area, the other solenoids are solidly mounted on the driver's side. Here is how your canister purge solenoid should be hooked up. It's labeled "CPRV" in the picture:

Thanks

I need to hook it up right then, cause one side has no hose on it. Thanks for taking the time to post the schematic for me and the info. Jim

The items it's connected to are your charcoal canisters located at the front of the engine bay, on the passenger side near the radiator. It's very common for that hose to fall off the solenoid.
