1974 c600 vin decoder please
#2
C61 = C600 (gas).
E = 361 2V or 4V FT engine.
V = Kentucky Truck Assembly Plant.
V66133 = 1975 (1975 serial number range: U80,001-X60,000).
As you can see, the VIN when decoded, doesn't tell you much.
Post all the codes stamped on the Warranty Plate, located on the left door face below the latch.

Possibly new to me C600
Hi Bill. Is there any way you might be willing to decode this serial number for me please?
C60DUA15042.
Trans=R
Axle=F7
DSO=A76036
153 J
164 H.P.
3800 RPM.
Body 691
Any info would be excellent as I plan to buy this truck and the thing is in excellent condition as far as I can tell other than a minor engine oil leak.

Serial number (A15042) could be a 1967 or 1976, but a 1976 would have been assembled at the Kentucky Truck Plant (code V), so I'm assuming it's a 1967.
C60 = C600 Tilt Cab.
D = 330 2V Heavy Duty FT engine.
U = Louisville KY Assembly Plant.
A15042 = 1967, assembled September 1966.
153" Wheelbase.
J = Rangoon Red.
691: 6 = Black all Vinyl / 91 = 91A Standard Cab.
R = Clark model 2621-V1 5 Speed Direct.
F7 = Eaton model 13802 Two Speed Rear Axle / 5.83/8.11 / 15,000 lbs. Rear Axle Capacity.
164 net HP @ 3,800 RPM
A76036:
A7 = FoMoCo of Canada Ltd., Pacific Lincoln-Mercury Division, where the original selling dealer ordered the truck from.
6036 = Domestic Special Order number, truck special ordered by original purchaser, not "bought off the lot."
