1966 steering column to crown Vic
I have searched the threads for answer but found nothing...
I have put a CV front suspension in my truck and am now working on the steering
Question the Rag joint on the end of the column has the metal attachment part on the steering column shaft end that attaches to the rag joint....is this welded to the 3/4 inch steering shaft or pressed on?...I see other years are splined at this point
If it is pressed on and splined how many splines are there?
And the connection on the CV suspension has a triangle type pattern?..on the shaft....what kind of universal joint do people use here?....a smooth 3/4?

I used an Ididit column with my crown vic conversion. Found a shaft from a wrecked 2012 Mustang that fits the CV steering shaft. Had to buy an adaptor U-joint to get from the Mustang shaft to the DD shaft on my column. I think the original steering shaft had the rag joint flange splined to the shaft. Hope this helps a bit.
