2011 Edge speedometer and cruise speeds don't match

We have a new to use 2011 Ford Edge limited awd. I've noticed that if I set the speedometer to 70 and the cruise will show 67. When I use my gps on my phone it will show my actual speed at 64! There's a 6mph difference in actual speed. Can anyone help me on what may be out of whack or any way to calibrate this. Tires are stock size. Any help will be appreciated! Thanks!

How accurate do you think your phone GPS is? Have you checked with a Garmin or similar unit? I wouldn't be surprised to see 2-3 mph difference between the speedo and actual speed, seems common on many cars. My F-150 and Escape are about 2 mph faster on the speedo than GPS but my Edge is spot on.

I've used my gps on my expedition, f150, ranger, and my motorcycle and it is within a 1/2mph on all 4. I know when I rode beside her on my motorcycle with her cruise on at 60 and I was doing 54. It's weird how it's off. I've looked and did some reading and can't find anything on it. Haven't got in touch with the ford dealer yet but I imagine they would need to look at it to give me any kind of answer.

Thanks to those road side radar gadgets that display your speed, I know the speedo on my Ranger reads 5 MPH fast. If i want to cruise at 70 I set the CC to 75. If it bothered me i could probably find a speedo drive gear with fewer teeth.

If you happened to live in Orange county cal I'd give you the name of a speedometer shop that could check this out & give you any options. I thought these newer Fords could be programed to compensate for over size tires..

It has the stock tire size and everything on it. Just weird how it could be off so much. You would think that the speedometer and the cruise control speed would be the same as it is all controlled through the car itself.
