1995 F150 5.8 Stalling Issue
Hi everyone,
I have a 1995 F150 2x4 with the 5.8l V8 that's having an issue. The truck idles fine in park or natural but dies immediately in drive OR reverse. I tried replacing the solenoid pack in the transmission and I also put in one of those filter retain clips. That didn't help at all.
Any ideas??
Thanks!

I'll give that a shot tonight. If that does work, what are you thinking might be the problem? Torque converter? Maybe the new solenoid pack is bad as well? I was reading that the IAC may need to be replaced as well?

So here's what we have. I removed the plug from the pack and it was able to shift into gear and not die! But, when it went into gear, the RPM dropped a bit like it almost died but picked back up by itself and stayed alive.
I plugged the pack back in and it died again like normal. I tried putting it in gear again, but this time I gave it some gas before it died. It stayed on with the gas and even after when I let off. But, when I shifted to park and then back in to gear again with no gas, it died.

Hi Bill - I replaced the IAC and that seemed to clear some of the issue. Now, with the pack unplugged, the truck drives fine. With it plugged in, it still stalls out. Since you said this may be a wiring or computer problem, do you think the truck is telling the TCC to lockup all the time? Is it possible to read the voltage at the plug to diagnose? 0v =no TCC engagement, ??v=TCC engagement. If it's not in the wiring, it may be a bad computer right? Let me know what you think.
Sorry for the delayed response, I was out of town for a bit. Thanks for the help.
