2005 Excursion not starting after running
Started having trouble with my Excursion 6.0 Diesel stalling after being in tow/hauling a 22' boat. That issue has gone away buy now I start it and run for 20 minutes, turn it off and try to start it again and all it does is turn over. If I let is sit for about 8hrs it will start again. Does anyone know what is going on?
Thank you,
Kelly

Pretty much everything we can do to help is going to start with you having a scanner for diagnostics:

Highly recommended for Apple users:
DashBoss | A Brain Scan for your Vehicle
Common no-start issues on a 6.0L related to the engine warming up are leaks in the high pressure oil system. There are too many o-rings to count easily in that system, which is why leaks tend to develop there. Without spending some time with a scanner then pretty much every thing to try to fix the issue is a guess, and with how expensive some of these parts are guessing costs significantly more than buying a DashBoss or TorqueApp and spending an hour taking down a list of readings. Even worse, taking to a shop that will guess will hurt a LOT, doing some basic diagnosis on your own first can give you some insight before a shop tells you to start replacing an $800 oil pump when the real problem is an o-ring on a $75 standpipe.
