Fuel selector valve f1uz9b263b

Does anyone have information on this part? All vendors say it is on national backordered with no release date. Not sure what to do at this point. I've ordered all new parts for the fuel system. This valve is the only thing holding me back from putting everything together. The original unit is shot and not really interested in trying to luck into a junkyard unit actually working. This is really putting a damper on my resto. I was really starting to build some momentum...

F1UZ-9B263-B .. Reservoir & Fuel Tank Selector Valve / Obsolete ~ 6 available NOS

This is either obsolete as no Ford Parts Depot shows any, or it's D99 = Backorder Detroit. Ford will watch and see how many dealers order it...if not enough: Ford will obsolete it.

Last MSRP: $290.02 ~ Dealer net cost: $159.51.

1989 F250: Are you sure this is what you want, as there's another: E9TZ-9189-A .. contains 6 ports, no reservoir.

If you are unsure, post the ID number stamped on the original.

Unfortunately, the part you suggested will not work. It has to be with the reservoir. I appreciate the info. Any idea how log it will take for them to make a decision. There is literally no alternatives to this without completely reworking the fuel system.

What the hell are you talking about! I did not suggest anything.

I asked you if this part was what you really wanted because there is another: E9TZ-9189-A

I'm talking about potentially obsolete fuel selector valve reservoirs for pre '91 ford pickup trucks. What the hell are you talking about?

I'm sure F1UZ-9B263-B is what I need. E9TZ-9189-A will not work for my application, but I appreciate you putting it out there as a possible option. I believe they call that a "suggestion."??

I do appreciate you taking the time to respond to my thread, and your information is valuable. I would really like to find out how long Ford is going to take to make a decision on this part. It has been backordered since June.

As I said in post #2, there are SIX F1UZ-9B263-B available. I just wanted to be sure this is what you wanted.

HAVEN FORD in Haven KS has 1 = 620-465-2252.

STAR FORD-LINCOLN in Glendale CA has 1 = 818-243-6275.

JAY MALLARD FORD-LINCOLN in Jonesboro LA has 1 = 318-259-9881.

HIGH BUCK! BOB ALLEN FORD in Overland Park KS has 1 = 913-381-3000.

ALBERIC FORD in Carolina Puerto Rico has 2 = 787-522-6200 x 205.

Note the 1990 & 1991 ford pickup trucks did not use a fuel selector valve or reservoir.

Thank you for providing these dealers. A couple of them knew what part I was talking about before I even finished telling them the part number. Apparently they are getting lots of calls. All of them said it was obsolete except the one in CA. The parts guy said they are having a tooling issue and there would be more eventually. Anyone know how I can confirm this? I would seek an alternative setup, but I already bought the tanks and sending units that require this valve.
