2006 6.0 Heads
Hey guys I have a question,
As I have said before I'm a wood butcher not a mechanic.I have had Head Gaskets leaking for a little while now I finally got my heads off the block and have removed the Rocker Carrier.
Here is my question, I am getting ready to take the heads in to be re-surfaced, checked over, and cleaned. How far do I have to take it down? Does the whole Rocker arm assembly have to come off or can it be left alone.
thanks,

You have to split it.
Also you should think about the new updated push rods. They are
just a tiny bit shorter.
Also anytime you surface a head you change the valve train geometry.
As for how much you can cut I can't find that right now but I bet doing
a search you can find it on FTE
The Ford shop book says to not resurface. Then it goes on to tell you that the min
deck to deck hight 95mm or 3.74"
If you do cut then you have some work to do to get all the geometry back to
where it needs to be.
