Exterior Color

Since my order doesn't have a VIN I am going back and forth between exterior color choice between shadow black and white platinum.

I have a black F150 but its metallic. I don't like the swirls in black and that black is always dirty. I'm not sold on either color

I would like to ask for your thoughts. I know color is a preference but I am looking for some advise in this matter.

I'm getting a F450 Platinum.

The black in some of the 2017 super duty car show YouTube videos show swirls. Those trucks are polished to look as good as possible. I'd stay away from the black personally.

Magnetic or Silver in the Platinum.

Josh have you seen silver in the F450 platinum. If so how was it?

I have white now. New order is silver with magnetic lower two tone which also adds the fender trim to prevent paint chips. Light colors stay cooler and do not show dirt and scratches.

I really like the way white hides scratches and scuffs. You can't go wrong with white IMO. My vote:

I'm on my 3rd white Ford pickup, and have the 4th on order. I like the practicality of white (easier to keep clean looking and 'hides' dents/scratches). Also not as hot in the summer. On the other hand, a clean black truck can look very sharp. It's all personal preference.

I really want to see that Bronze Fire in person. Will probably go for either that or black. KR, so both combined with caribou.

Black trucks, when washed and polished, look the best. The downside is they show scratches and dirt the easiest of any color. I had the tri-met platinum white and loved it. However, I'm going with Blue Jeans this time. The one problem with white is that the lower half of the truck picks up road tar easily and that can be hard to remove.

I have metallic black now and I rarely wash it. The concern I have with shadow black is that since it is non metallic it will show swirls. I have a black car but I ended up wrapping it to prevent swirls. It's one thing to wrap a car but a huge truck like F450 would be crazy expensive to wrap

Swirls in black come strictly from poor wash technique, not from just driving around.

Having a beautiful black vehicle is a lifestyle choice. 😄

I wanted the bronze fire but saw it on a F150 and didn't care for it. Looks too orange in the direct sunlight.
I went with a monotone Caribou KR with the chrome package. Light enough to hide dirt but a little more classy than plan white. White gold wasn't bad but liked caribou better.

What about a nice F250 CCLB wrapped matte black/dark red?

Have to disagree a little. You're right about the washing technique being responsible for a lot of it, but here in snow country just brushing snow off can create the swirls and scratch marks. But black sure is beautiful, agree there.
