The last time I spoke with Tim, he stated that he could build whatever I wanted. They used to advertise 160/80's as well as 160/100's a few years ago.

If memory serves me, I think he stated that the 0% and 80% nozzles were standard sizes and that they simply machine the 30%'ers out of 0's and the 100%'ers out of 80's.
I could be mistaken. I would call him and see if all of this still applies.

I don't think that the 175/80's will fuel that much more than the 180/30's that you were considering. Again, it will simply allow the fuel to get in there faster when you really push the throttle thereby allowing for lower EGT's with the proper tuning. Opinions will differ.

The above videos by cleatus12r illustrate the point very well......proper tunes make all the difference.
My bad when I googled the injector it took me to the used and I looked for new and couldn't find it but found it now.

No worries! It is all about making the most informed decision that you can at the time you pay for the mods. This stuff isn't cheap.

If you decide to call P.I.S. you'll find that Tim is a straight shooter and will send you to another vendor if he can't help you.

I've tuned stock nozzles, and I've tuned 30% nozzles, and I've tuned 80%, and I've tuned 100%, and I've tuned 200%.

80% was by far the easiest, and runs the best straight out of the gate.

30% literally has almost no improvement from stock. I considered that a waste as EGT's were no better than a hot stock injector.

200% runs the best when it's finally dialed in, but it takes FOREVER with constant micro-adjustments before everything is right. At least with my novice skills.

Never could get 100% right. Those were a mystery to me as to why they wouldn't idle right. My 200's did far better than 100's could ever dream of.

I would trade back my 100% nozzles in a heartbeat if I could. The 200% idle great and run terrific 60% of the time but just the finicky-ness of them drives me insane because of the inconsistency from one day to the next. Everything about the 160/100% was PERFECT ALL DAY, EVERY DAY.

And we like to think that we are better than the other, but the truth is Cleatus is way better than I could ever be.

And I don't tune anymore. The truck was sold last year and the tuning software gone.

Impossible. Different people have different expectations and tastes concerning the way their vehicle runs. A lot of the tuning that I have done for people around these parts has been dumped for others' tuning because I like soft starts and a soft accelerator pedal.

In my view - that's a real problem. I have discovered many drivers "feel" they have more power in the tunes purely because of the sensitivity in the throttle just off idle. A touchy bottom throttle is nothing more than a gimmic, and has frequently led to more problems as the leg stretches out. Those who have opted for touchy throttle over controlled throttle are frequently experiencing less real power, more heat, and more smoke - but the neanderthal deep within the driver is tickled by the sudden burst.

I have 160/30's w Gearhead tunes. I have e what I would consoder high egts and I have plenty of smoke. He has tried to adjust the tunes to keep the smoke down but no success. Maybe I am too picky but when people say no smoke I take that to mean no smoke.

I have tried several things to try to keep the EGTs down. I now run a van turbo with a Riffraff billet wheel. I easily make over 30psi of boost and it pulls hard. I think the smoke got worse with the van turbo due to the lag, which is actually not bad.

I have never been totally happy w these injectors. If I could do it again I would get new no remans and would go w a bigger nozzle, but I wouldn't want to go over 400hp because I don't want to start breaking things.

I don't think my current tranny can transfer all the power that I can make.

I think I made my mind up between the 160/80's or 175/80's new injectors.

I agree. You can have the best of both worlds with the proper tunes and still have some HP left on the table.
