So I'm replacing a blown 05 6.0, with a motor and tork converter from a 04 F550... I don't know much of anything when it comes to transmissions.. but will the tork converter from the 04 f550 work with the trans from the 05 f250? I know it fits and all but will I have a balancing issue??

 

I'm not a tranny expert but I'd be more concerned with the programming than balancing.

 

The torque converter will work just fine. There is no balancing change.

 

Hi Mark. Is there a stall speed difference between the two? One from the 550 to the 250? Just curious?

There is no difference at all in the torque converters between an F-250 and an F-550.

 

Ahh ok.. well I think I nuked my tranny... tow haul light is on and I got a p0766.. in gear it rolls back wards like I'm driving a stick.. first and revers lags a bit then grabs and goes.. once it's going it shifts fine.. havnt dropped the tranny pan yet to see how much metal is in there if any.. But doesn't look good... at least i still have the trans from the 550
